About Robin Frid

Contact Robin at 936-443-6765 or by email.

Robin Frid has a passion for success that drives him to prepare his youth and amateur exhibitors to compete at the top of the quarter and paint horse industries. "My drive has always come from wanting to watch others learn and succeed." The ability to focus on the success of his youth and amateur exhibitors is undeniable.

Few trainers can boast that they have helped as many students achieve the highest possible level of success. Robin has had nine Amateur World Champions, five Youth World Champions, and four Congress Champions. "I cannot explain how much joy there is in watching someone not only achieve their goals, but go far beyond them."

Robin's success does not lie solely in his dedication to hard work. His excellent communication skills have enabled him to cross the barrier of not just learning but understanding. Every student, two legged or four, learns in different ways. His innovative methods enable students to apply the principles taught at home when it counts the most, in the competition arena.

Success is not something that is easy to achieve. "In my eyes the key to being successful in this industry lies in one major component, hard work and lots of it. I have always felt that someone who works hard can, in the end, always rise above."

Robin has maintained a principle of giving 100 percent to each and every student. Keeping the number of clients low enables him to give them the attention they need. In return, Robins' students have developed an unbreakable loyalty. They respect him as the best, taking critique and discipline very seriously. The passion instilled in his teaching methods is unmatchable.

Enduring the ups and down of competition builds not only an undying work ethic, but an unbreakable bond between coach and competitor. " I am very proud of the fact that I still maintain contact with many of my students who have graduated out of the horse world and moved onto their own careers with new goals and ambitions. I feel honored to have been a part of their lives and helping to instill strong values that will carry them to prosperity in their future."

Robin's Foundation

Passion and success do not appear overnight. The work ethic Robin passes to his students comes from a solid foundation made of strong family values and the persistence to never give up. As early as age five his mother encouraged him to ride horses. By age seven he started taking riding lessons and by age 12 started showing paint horse under the guidance of Larry and Bonnie Miller.

Robins' youth career reached a higher level of competition when he started riding with Garth and Sonnesa Gooding of Michigan. As a youth competitor he became a Reserve World Champion, Reserve Year-End High Point, and Honor Roll Champion in three different events.

At age 17, Robin started training horses for Garth and Sonnesa Gooding. Four years later he took a job with Hobby Farms in Cypress, Texas, where for three and a half years he was the assistant trainer to Danny Cannon. Next Robin worked for Rawhide Blackwell for one year.

Robin's Professional Achievements

In 1998 Robin branched out into a partnership with Pullin Ranch. While working with Doug and Bobbi Pullin he experienced many AQHA World Championships, AQHYA World Champions, and Congress Champions.

Robins' personal accomplishments began with being named the 2000 Palomino Open World Champion in trail. In 2002 he rode Investing Wisely and became the World Champion in Junior Western riding with a record-breaking score. The pair then went on to win the 2003 Congress in Junior Western riding. In 2007 Robin received his AQHA judges card and in 2008 compose the video "Roadmap to Success," featuring an introduction to Horsemanship.
